Bangli - The Indonesian government proposed five garden earth (geopark) nationwide to UNESCO to be accepted as a member of a global network of garden earth. This is expected to boost the number withouclouds to the earth's five park areas.
Head of Geological Agency, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Sukhyar deliver it in the inauguration ceremony of Mount Batur as a member of a global network of garden earth, Saturday (11/17/2012), in Bangli regency, Bali. Five national parks earth is proposed to UNESCO Caravan Park Toba in North Sumatra, Jambi Jambi Caravan Park, Caravan Park Mount Sewu incoming Central Java, East Java, and Yogyakarta Yogyakarta; Mount Rinjani in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, and King Ampat in West Papua.
According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Pangestu, Caravan Park is the concept of sustainable development in the region and eventually selected Indonesia as a model for the development of natural resources in a holistic manner. The three main elements of natural resources, the geology, biology, and culture, fully packaged and integrated in the concept of garden earth.
The development objective of the earth's pillared garden on three main objectives, namely conservation, education, and growth of the value of the local economy through the utilization of tourism. "This is in line with the principles of sustainable tourism are applied throughout the world, educational programs geology, geological conservation, and growth in the value of the local economy through tourism should be enhanced and realized," he said.
Mari added, Batur Global Geopark development can serve as a national example of how to manage natural resources consisting of sites of geological, biological, cultural, and other intangible-tangible heritage in a holistic (integrated, cross-sector) as much as possible to increase the value economic, social, and cultural communities.
"Means fastest and most popular is through geowisata, without closing the possibility of increasing the local economy through agro industry," said Mari.
